About the Event

The USC women’s soccer program recently announced its 2024 schedule, as the Trojans embark upon their first campaign in the Big Ten this fall. The USC women’s soccer team’s annual showdown with crosstown rivals UCLA will be played at the L.A. Memorial Coliseum on October 27.

The USC/UCLA rivalry match is annually one of the most attended games in the country, with the five most attended regular season games in NCAA women’s soccer history all being between the Trojans and Bruins. Overall, six of the eight most attended women’s soccer games in NCAA history have been between the two teams, with USC hosting five of those six matchups.

The last time the two teams played at the Coliseum and the game was open to the public (the 2020 contest there was closed to due to the COVID-19 pandemic) was in 2014 and the game set the NCAA regular season attendance record with 10,128 fans. That record was then surpassed in 2017, with 11,925 fans attending the game at UCLA’s Drake Stadium. The 2010 matchup between the teams at the Coliseum also set a then-NCAA attendance record with 8,527 fans. USC has hosted the rivalry matchup at the (former) StubHub Center in Carson, Calif. twice as well, with 8,555 fans showing up in 2018 and 8,505 attending the game in 2016.
