About the Event

For the first time ever, USC’s New Student Convocation Ceremony will be held at the historic Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. This iconic venue, steeped in history and tradition, provides a grand backdrop for welcoming our newest Trojans. Learn more about the event here.

Doors open 7 a.m. Procession and ceremony begins 8:30 a.m.

All students attending New Student Convocation are required to reserve tickets for themselves and up to seven named guests (children under 2 years of age do not need a ticket to attend). These tickets are free of charge.

Students need to use their USC email account to access these tickets through the USC Ticket Office, My Account. After downloading and claiming their mobile tickets, they must distribute the tickets to their named guests.

Please keep in mind the following details to help you get ready for Convocation:

  • Be sure to download your tickets to your mobile device before arriving on campus. Attendees must present a mobile ticket – printed copies will not be accepted.
  • Attendees may only enter with a bag that adheres to the clear bag policy.
  • Similar to security checks at Trojan football and basketball games, all persons and their belongings will be subject to metal detector screening and bag inspection before entering the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
  • Parking at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and University Park Campus (UPC) is limited. The use of rideshare and public transportation options is highly encouraged. Please see the Transit and Parking Page for more details.
  • Convocation event guests may access the Memorial Coliseum via gates 8 and 23 at 7:00 a.m.
  • Upon arrival, attendees will proceed to general guest seating and all incoming students will proceed to the peristyles to pick up their regalia and gather for line-up. The student processional will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m., and participating students must arrive no later than 8:00 a.m.
  • Please allow ample time to park and make your way through security lines. To avoid potential delays, we recommend arriving at least one hour before Convocation.
  • Complimentary water stations will be offered, and only factory-sealed water will be permitted inside.
  • Be advised event seating will be in full sun with no shade. Please bring a hat and/or sunscreen.
